Paula is a Spanish photographer based in Vienna, Austria, with a passion for creating visual concepts and compositions and observing and capturing the world around her. She has worked on a number of private and personal projects in the areas of editorial, portrait, commercial and event photography.
Paula aspires to shine light into stories that need to be seen and told, from the daily lives of women to the inspiring lives of the LGBTQ+ community, of which she is a part. Already from a young age, Paula had a unique perspective of the world – a perspective she now captures with pride through her professional work. Her style is characterised by a deep appreciation for capturing the emotion behind the subject and fusing it with artistry, elegance and a sense of the ordinary. “After all, what’s normal anyway?”
“I started with analogue photography to learn how a camera truly works; to have an insight and understand how ‘what my naked eye sees’ can turn into a picture. I discovered that you must become more meticulous and fully comprehend the intricate functions of your camera. You must also make the most out of the light, the colors and the scenery. Lastly, it gave me a chance to explore and experiment, being surprised by the result as one of the most beautiful parts is: you never truly know what will come out of it.” – Paula Márquez López
